Our Board Members

  • Ann Sapp

    Ann Sapp is a founding board member of Buffalo Academy and a community volunteer with a focus on education.

    She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and was awarded a teaching certificate from Georgia State University.

  • Ralph Paris

    Ralph Paris is a former executive in the financial services industry, having spent most of his 36-year career in reinsurance.  He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and holds a Master of Business Administration from Stetson University and a Master of Global Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University.

    Ralph and his wife Caroline are members of Buffalo Presbyterian Church and the parents of two adult children, Alexander and Isabel.

    A recent retiree, Ralph enjoys playing with the family dog, Lulu, cheering on his favorite sports teams, playing golf, and being a member of several men’s Bible studies.  He especially enjoys sharing his time and financial experience as a member of the Board of Directors at Buffalo Academy.

  • Tricia Webb

    Tricia Webb graduated cum laude from UNC Charlotte in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She married her husband, Tim, in 1994, and they have two children—Abby, who is married to Sam, and Graham. The family is eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first grandchild!

    With over 20 years of experience teaching 2nd and 4th grades in public, private, homeschool, and hybrid school settings, Tricia brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for education to her role. Currently, she teaches 4th grade in a hybrid model and has served on the Buffalo Academy board for 2.5 years. Tricia is deeply committed to supporting the school’s mission and fostering a love of learning in every child.

  • Frances Lucius

    Frances grew up in Greenville, SC, and has called Greensboro home since 1992. A proud Clemson University graduate, she earned her degree in English and Communications. Frances is married to Frank, a fellow Clemson Tiger, and together they have three adult children—Frank Jr., McBee, and Anne Marshall—all of whom graduated from NC State University. Their family also includes Grace, a spirited one-year-old chocolate lab who is still learning to live up to her name!

    With over 35 years of experience in sales within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, Frances brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to every role she undertakes. She and Frank are devoted members of Buffalo Presbyterian Church, where Frances serves as an Elder. She is thrilled to join the Buffalo Academy Board and be part of this vibrant school community, sharing the Gospel and guiding students to His kingdom.

  • Karen Millican

    Karen Millican is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience leading both commercial and non-profit organizations. She is the grateful mother and stepmother to four children and is passionate about the value of a classical Christian education. Karen currently directs the employment arm of JoyDew, an organization that provides academic enrichment and job training for young adults with autism. She also leads educational programs for physicians and first responders on autism and serves as vice-chair of Women of the Shoah, a non-profit dedicated to teaching Holocaust history.  

    In addition to her work in education, Karen is a board member of the Community Theatre of Greensboro and has a rich professional background in founding and managing legal, life science, and technology companies. Earlier in her career, she held various roles at Johnson & Johnson and worked as a television news reporter and anchor on the West Coast. Karen is joyfully married to Robert Millican and is thankful to be a member of Buffalo Presbyterian Church. She is excited to bring her experience to the Buffalo Academy Board during this exciting period of growth.
